BVA, Inc. was started in 1983 because of the recognition of a need for an efficient, independent and knowledgeable source of high quality specialty oil products. It is ISO 9001 certified company headquartered at Wixom (MI, USA)
Over thirty years experience, representing a major oil company and working with OEM and service industry users of specialty oils ,convinced Robert (Bob) Vincent to start BVA. As a result, BVA now has over 60 years of technical and sales experience in the field of lubricants.
BVA has over the years gained an
expertise in developing tailor made
solutions for customers and OEMs
(private labelling) and continue to do
so . In the process , BVA has a range
of high quality products that meet
the OEM standards.
They have a strong R & D team. The
team is led by Glenn D Short, a
world-renowned expert in synthetic
Compressor lubricants. He is a patent
holder, sought-after speaker and
well-published author. His 35-plus
year career highlights several firsts,
including:
Refrigeration Systems have been used in wide range of industries like food,
pharma, breweries, meat
processing plant, beverages, , cold storage , air conditioning systems used in
industries, houses and cars.
Refrigeration Compressor oil is used in a refrigeration system to lubricate the
Compressor and keep the
refrigeration unit running smoothly. Special formulations of oil are required to
lubricate the internal
components of a Compressor.
BVA has a range of refrigeration Compressor oils suiting the refrigeration system in use. BVA line of refrigeration lubricants has been specifically formulated to provide the highest level of performance and protection possible. R & D team has achieved this by the understanding of the complex chemistry of lubrication, but also by the understanding of the mechanics of refrigeration
BVA SUPER SERIES refrigeration oils are made from naphthenic base crudes that are highly refined to provide proper lubrication in refrigeration and air conditioning systems
These are 2 stage hydrotreated /hydrocracked oils that are specially designed lubricants for use in ammonia refrigeration systems. They are highly stable fluids, specially formulated so the fluids do not react with ammonia. A specialized additive formulation, blended with two stage hydrocracked base stocks, gives them excellent oxidation resistance, high viscosity, film strength at operating temperatures, fast separation from ammonia and contaminants such as water. This helps in minimize the amount of oil that migrates into the system.
Their non-sludging and oxidation resistant properties are the perfect choice for ammonia systems. HTP - 717 Series type oils meet or exceed the required specifications of major refrigeration Compressor manufacturers for ammonia applications such as APV Baker, Bitzer, Copeland, FES #1, Frick #3 and #9, IIKA Mafa Gram, Grasso, Howden, Sabroe, Sullair, Vilter OEM Refrigeration Oil, York C and E. The 717P technology is often used as an OEM original factory fill or as the preferred choice for service fill. BVA HTP 717 is available in other viscosity grades as well as a special low temperature version.
They perform better than naphthenic Compressor oil , because they don't have unsaturated hydrocarbons and sulphur . HTP 717 is stripped of 99.9% aromatics. and thus HTP 717 68 has lower volatility . Lower volatility influences the amount of oil vapor carryover with the ammonia gas past the separator.
Low volatility leads to reduced oil carry over to evaporator. High volatility oils increase consumption which leads to carbon and sludge buildup.
The chemical miscibility of the refrigerantlubricant pair is a good indicator of how well the refrigerant will help move the oil around the system. HTP 717 is formulated for minimum mixing of oil in the refrigerant . If lubricating oil is miscible with ammonia, it would lead to increase in viscosity of oil .
Low miscibility with ammonia, eventually reduces the consumption of oil and thus indirectly reducing the oil costs. It also reduces the amount of oil downstream from the Compressor (oil which must then be removed from the low side of the system).
A wax-free, alkylated benzene-based lubricant, that does not contain paraffin chains that cause floc properties. BVA Alkyl Series has excellent miscibility with R-22. The BVA Alkyl Series is miscible with some of the new interim refrigerants such as MP-39, MP-52, MP-66, HP-80 and HP-81. It also makes retrofitting easier and more effective. BVA Alkyl Series oil offers excellent thermal stability and chemical stability. Due to its compatibility with mineral oil it can be used in its place or added to mineral oil.
They are used in low temperature applications where mineral oil does not have enough low temperature properties or in system where oil return was a problem.
It is suited for A/Cs, refrigerants Since s and other devices using CFC, HCFC, Carbon dioxide and ammonia as refrigerant gas, it also can be used with mixed type refrigerant gas which contains HCFC.
These are formulated with a non intrusive additive package, which is suitable for almost all applications. BVA RPOE EP and AW is a polyol ester with a specially formulated extreme pressure additive and anti - wear package for aluminum, bronze and steel.
BVA RPOE has great chemical and thermal stability. POE oils were mainly designed for HFC systems. It is used in refrigeration Compressors that is compatible with the refrigerants R-134a, R-410A and R-12. It is available in these viscosities - 22, 32, 46, 68, 100, 120, 170 and 320.
BVA PRO PAG series has superior miscibility, lubricity. It is a fully synthetic hygroscopic oil specifically designed for automotive air conditioner Compressors. It is used in R-134a air conditioning systems to lubricate the Compressor. it is available in these viscosities - 46, 62, 100, 125 and 150.
BVA already had a series of air Compressor lubricants designed to work with carbon dioxide. The same technology has been used to design for automotive a/c Compressors. It is available in these viscosities - 46 and 68
BThe special type of polyol ester used in these products has been found to offer less dilution and higher viscosity for better lubricity at higher Compressor operating pressures and temperatures, and lower viscosity and improved miscibility at lower temperatures. The result is improved lubrication and compression sealing efficiency and better oil return when compared to other types of POE based products. RPOE C series is designed for carbon dioxide and hydrocarbon refrigeration. It is available in these viscosities - 55, 68, 85, 110 and 170
